Colombia is one of my fav countries 💛💙❤️ and last December (in 2018) I spent some days around the country, visiting friends, visiting different places, meeting other travelers, giving some tech talks and doing fun stuff :)
Below, some remarks from these adventures!

BOGOTA

This time, in the beautiful Bogota, I only had few touring hours, then I went to a museum and wander a bit around the city and it was Christmas time but also I have met up with some beloved friends :)

The Gold museum is amazing! it really takes you back in time to learn more about different world civilization and some other great details about gold.

About tech talks! I had the great chance to join the last meet up of 2018 GDG Bogota and share a little bit about Actions on Google!

Also… I got the chance to personally meet to one of my fav online teachers from Udacity! who happened to be also in Bogota that last day I was around!

ZIPAQUIRA

Short day trip to this cute small town not too far from Bogota reachable by bus that is very touristic mainly because for the Salt Cathedral which is underground.

MEDELLIN

Awww Medellin! such amazing memories from this place and mainly because I really admire all the transformation that Medellin has had the last couple of years and the way the city is turning into one of the most important tech hubs in latin america.

I visited Ruta N which is like an accelerator and business center and it is located in the north of the city.

Also I could feel the Christmas season in Medellin, visiting some of the lights decoration in one of the parks.

Meeting up with friends ❤

Still so many TODOs for Medellin ❤

GUATAPE

One of the most cutest and colorful place that I have ever seen. Not too far from Medellin, possible to visit it during a day trip and you can also see go up the big Peñol rock (around 600+ stairs up) to get an amazing view.
I first went to Peñol and from there went to visit the cute Guatape town.

Also, one of the exciting part to that solo trip was to meet these amazing guys traveling around Latin America.

At Guatape with other travelers! read their experience in Medellin here: https://themondaytrip.wordpress.com/2018/12/28/medellin-ou-la-renaissance-dun-pays/

BARRANQUILLA

Landing in Barranquilla for Christmas days itself to meet up with friends I have not seen since 2011. Best way to celebrate the re-union going to the beach “Vamos a la playa 🎵”

Thanks to our global network with School of AI, I got to join the last meet up for the local chapter in Barranquilla talking about Neural Networks 🤖. Read about this here.

SANTA MARTA

It was an amazing time visiting Santa Marta for short time but meeting up with my friend Marta! we met in Belgium in 2015 ❤

Also… visiting the beaches around.

CARTAGENA

I reminded that a friend said once Cartagena is great destination for New Year eve. This came to my mine just before 2018 finished and I said… why not! let’s see Cartagena.

Bye 2018! Hello 2019!

New Year Eve

Starting 2019, walking around the city since early morning. I let “the visit to the island” for next time.

MINCA

Someone said: “Not all those who wander are lost” Minca was not really in my plans neither Tayrona park but other travelers and local friends really recommended them to me since I love nature and those were my last days in Colombia.

Still so many things to see around. Just love the amazing people in Colombia and all the amazing things my friends are doing there ❤
